How can I make a same-day appointment with a dentist?
If you require a same-day appointment, the easiest and most effective way to schedule one is to call us directly. Sending an email will not get you an answer as quickly. A phone call is also more effective, as it allows our team to better understand your situation and ensure that you are cared for as quickly as necessary.
The goal of a same-day appointment is to assess your situation, eliminate the source of any pain, and to finalize a treatment plan for the future. In some cases, more advanced treatment may be possible during a same-day appointment.
What level of education is required to be a dentist?
Each dentist in the United States is required to earn either a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or a Doctor of Dental Sciences (DDS) from one of the nation’s 67 accredited dental schools.
Acceptance into dental school requires that the student earn a bachelor's degree (with very high grades) in a math and science heavy major.
Dental school is an additional three years and combines both hands on and classroom learning. Following graduation, many dental students choose to continue their education by earning one of twelve specializations recognized by the American Dental Association (ADA). These require an additional three or more years of dental school.
